The recommended daily intake is always indicated on the packaging. These are based on the recommended daily allowance for vitamins and nutrients. For plants, these are determined on the basis of the daily amount needed to induce the desired effect. If you are in treatment with a doctor or health professional it is best to look at your individual needs.

Many supplements can be combined with each other. Be careful with the combination of similar products that can result in an excess of the maximum daily dose. If you want to be sure, it’s best to get information from a health professional who knows more about supplements.

There is always an expiry date on the packaging of our supplements. If it has not expired and if the supplements are stored correctly (cool, dry and dark), there will be hardly any loss of quality. Do not store them in a humid environment, but in a cool dark place such as a kitchen cupboard.

A possible way is to take the capsule or tablet together with food. Under normal circumstances, the capsules can be opened without any problem, if they are taken together with food such as yoghurt or something else that is easy to combine. However, there are a number of acidic nutrients, such as alpha-lipoic acid, that are best left in the capsule. If you are not sure, you can always contact us. The tablets may be broken if the tablet isn’t specially coated to protect against gastric acid.

If you don’t like the taste of the powder dissolved in water, you can choose to dissolve the powder in (soy) milk or mix it with a little bit of yoghurt.

If more water-soluble vitamins are taken than the body can absorb, the excess leaves the body through the urine. This effect is clearly visible in riboflavin (vitamin B2), which itself has an intense yellow color, giving the urine a brighter yellow color. There is no cause for concern about this.

Cholesteril and Cholesteril Forte shouldn’t be combined with any other cholesterol-lowering product. It is best to contact a physician who is familiar with complementary health care products if you wish to continue taking Cholesteril/Cholesteril Forte.

Information on whether a product is suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet can be found on the product page of each product.

For the best absorption, you take your multi or monovitamin preparation during the meal.

If additives are present in the product, these are clearly stated on the packaging and on the website. If dyes are present, they are purely functional to prevent light-sensitive nutrients from being broken down.

Most Nutrisan preparations are safe in the long term. However, it is best to use a supplement temporarily to make up for certain shortages. However, it is appropriate to seek the advice of a health professional in case of doubt or prolonged use.

Most supplements do not contain these allergens. Should any of these substances be used, it is clearly indicated on the label or on our website under ‘Remarks and allergens’ for the product in question.

Very little research has been done into the safety of supplements in pregnant or breast-feeding women. Always consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

It is best to seek advice from a physician who is also familiar with complementary medicine. He can see if a combination is possible.

Most vitamins are safe at higher doses, but you should be aware of the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) they can accumulate in the body. For most of our products we have opted for a vegetable form of vitamin A (beta-carotene) where the risk is lower. It is best to have your nutrient status in the blood regularly monitored by a physician, who can then specifically recommend vitamins and minerals.

Yes, we consider pure products to be very important and quality prevails in our company philosophy. We buy our raw materials from reliable suppliers who issue a certificate of analysis and each raw material is checked on the basis of these analyses.

Most products are put into production under the responsibility of the company Nutrisan, i.e. Nutrisan assembles the products, purchases the raw materials and then has the products made in recognised laboratories.

All Nutrisan products are available at pharmacies.

Supplements for various minerals and vitamins are already common. But how do you distinguish the qualitative from the less qualitative supplements?

For minerals it is important to see in what form the mineral is added. Minerals bound to organic acids or amino acid chelates are absorbed very well. Examples are ascorbate, malate, citrate, pidolate, picolinate, taurate, methionine, glycinate and arginate. Minerals bound to inorganic salts, such as phosphate, sulphate, chloride, carbonate, hydroxide and oxide, are poorly absorbed.

Vitamins can occur in an active or inactive form. In case of an inactive form, the body must first convert this into the active form itself. This implementation does not run smoothly for everyone. For this reason, vitamins in their active form are more advisable, especially B vitamins.

Some plants contain active substances that can have beneficial effects on health. We therefore want to have these substances in our products in the right quantity. But in plants, these substances are always present in varying concentrations depending on various factors such as climate, season, part of the plant, variety, soil… By mentioning a standardization on our packaging, we always guarantee the concentration of the active ingredient.
