What are synbiotics?
Synbiotics refers to the combination of vegetable fibres and living bacteria.
Vegetable fibres cannot be broken down by our bodies. Continuously they are too big to be absorbed by the intestinal wall. The bacteria do have the ability to break down these fibres. For example, the fibres provide energy for the bacteria and smaller end products are formed.
Some commonly used strains of bacteria:
|Lactobacillus acidophilus (DDS-1)|
